In making artwork, a story should be told. My work offers a setting for that story. The viewer can interpret how the narrative unfolds personally, but often I describe my work as "the morning after"; being evicted, looking for somewhere to sleep or work, spending all the money, trying to do a show, applying for free lunch for the kids.
I use layers of paint and surface modulation to build up, tear down, write over and rebuild; Create the environment, burn it down, reconstruct.
